Transformer Farm 2004

Some Facts:

  • Mounting the transformers like this helps with cooling. Since the transformers get warm, when they are layed out like this it helps with airflow requirements to prevent them from overheating
  • It's also much faster to setup again next year! - since all the transformers are already connected to powerboards, etc
  • The assembled board is quite heavy - needs two people to move it!
  • Each tranformer takes the 240VAC Mains and steps it down to either 24VAC or 36VAC. Depending on the size of the tranform it normally supplied 1-3 amps of current at this lower voltage.
